HUNTING A SHADOW

Chapter 12: The Finale

When Danny and Brian reached the front door of the building to get out to the concrete jungle of the world, they looked at each other. They reached out for each others hand for a hand shake, they nodded to each other and grabbed a door handle and opened the door.

When the door opened the lights of the street lamps shone in there faces. As they took steps out from the doorway the lights disappeared and they could see Zach. He was being hung up in the air from his throat. Michael was there. He had killed Zach.

He looked at Danny and Brian and threw Zach aside. Zach’s head smashed against a street lamp and he fell onto the floor. Blood was flowing from his mouth and head like the source of a river flows down to a water fall.

Brian was pissed off and ran at Michael. Michael reached for the weapon. Danny saw the weapon on the side of his belt. Danny ran to Brian and dived to cover Brian. As Danny did this Michael had already reached for the weapon and shot at him. Danny was blasted in the side with the shot and laid on the floor. He was in pain.

Michael looked at Danny lying on the floor shaking in pain. Danny yelling his voice out was creaming, the blood was coming out of his chest slowly. Brian looked at Danny shaking on the floor. He scowled at Michael cursing under his breath. Michael walked towards Danny.

He got closer; Brian grabbed a metal pole lying next to him. He picked it up and went at Michael with it. Michael stopped and turned towards Brian. He grabbed the pole in Brian’s hand and snapped it. He then lashed out at Brian and he flew 10 meters in the air crashing through a window.

Danny got up onto his feet slowly and hit Michael in the head. Michael stood there and nudged his head forward. Danny continued to hit him, Michael as well continued to feel no pain.

Michael lashed out at Danny knocking him to the floor. Michael kicked out at Danny hitting him in the ribs multiple times. He broke 3 of Danny’s ribs. Danny was in more pain than ever. Brian came back to consciousness, he was dazed. He had glass in his back and on his face. He brushed the glass away slowly. Blood was trickling down his face.

Michael saw Brian in the corner of his eyes. He grabbed his weapon again and shot at Brian, he pulled the trigger. Brian had only just enough time to grab a bin lid. The bin lid melted in his hands and Brian again went flying through the air and back through the window and crashed into a wall. He was knocked unconscious again.

While this was happening Danny was getting onto his feet using a nearby bench to help himself up. He walked over to Michael silently. Michael didn’t notice Danny coming up behind him. Danny grabbed at the weapon and held onto it. He fell onto the floor along with Michael.
The gun went flying towards Brian. Brian was still unconscious. Danny made it up onto his knees. He jumped onto Michael chest and sat on it, punching Michael in the face. Michael was cowering under his arms.

Michael grabbed Danny by the throat. He was choking him. Brian he came back to consciousness again, he saw Danny dangling in the air, coughing up his throat. Brian shouted at Michael dangling the weapon in front of him, and attempted to snap the weapon in half with his knee.

Michael rushed over to Brian dropping Danny onto his feet. Danny screamed in pain. As Michael got closer to Brian, Danny kept onto his feet, He knew what Brian was doing.

As Michael went closer and closer to Brian, Brian threw the weapon to Danny. Danny fell onto the floor with the gun still in his hands. Michael wasn’t fast enough to turn round to grab it. As Danny was falling he aimed at Michael and pulled the trigger. There was a green blast. The noise was as loud as 10 bombs going off at once. Brian jumped behind a wall for cover.

The destruction that was left behind as the blast disappeared was devastating.
Michael was gone, all but his shoes on the floor. Danny was thrown to the floor harder. Danny made it back up onto his feet, struggling with each breath. Brian came out from cover. He ran over to Danny, tripping over numerous times due to injuries to his legs.

He fell onto the floor next to Danny. Danny was breathing deeply. They struggled getting back onto there feet. Brian grabbed Danny by his arm and placed it round his neck supporting him. Brian said to Danny taking short breaths. “Danny, You, You’re a… a Hero, you’ve ended this nightmare that haunted us for so long.” Danny smiled painfully.

Danny and Brian made it back to the building which Melissa and Cherene were waiting for them. They walked through the main doors, struggling to open them. Melissa and Cherene heard the doors open. They rushed down the stairs to celebrate there victory over that nightmare.

Melissa ran over to Danny’s aid and Cherene to Brian’s. They both jumped at them knocking them on to the sofas. They grabbed them and held them tight. Both Danny and Brian were keeping in the pain to stay with them. The women raised there heads and kissed the men on the lips over and over again, happy to see them.

Danny and Melissa went to Danny’s bedroom to attend to Danny’s wounds while Cherene and Brian stayed in the same room. Melissa and Danny talked and Danny had surprised Melissa by proposing, she deserved it for all the things she had been put through.
After 5 years of marriage they were still together and there love was stronger than ever. They also had 2 beautiful baby girls. The looks from the mother and from there father courage, will and strength to make things happen.
Brian and Cherene were also still together with a cute baby boy named Theo.
They were also married for 3 years and there love was also still very strong.

There lives were more perfect everyday as there children got older. Knowing nothing will happen to them and would let nothing harm them.
For there life was perfect, for now.
